In the general area of Pythagorio (close to hotel “Doryssa”), is the Folklore Museum of Samos\which was created with the care of "Nikolaos Dimitriou Literary Foundation".
The
exhibits of the museum represent an image of everyday life in Samos,
mainly before 1940. Many of the exhibits are also used today in the
everyday life in the villages of Samos.
Barber’s shop, a room similar to a traditional barbershop with all the relevant equipment.
Blacksmith’s
workshop, hammers, anvils, pincers, hand-bellows, a furnace and other
instruments used by blacksmiths for the puddling of iron.
Instruments
for the extraction of honey and the making of wax.
Furniture
of a typical Samian house during the 30’s.
Needlework
collection by Samian women. Curtains, blankets, covers etc.
Serpents tools, rods, dixies, andirons and everything else that was needed (and still is) for the making of cheese.
