The “Genoan Castle” or “Kastraki of Panagia Potamiou” (as it is known to locals) it’s a small fortress built by the Genoans at 13th century or later.
The exhibits and audiovisual equipment, show the everyday life during the Byzantine period, the history of the castle, the action of Lykourgos Logothetis, the fortress architecture in the Aegean and Samos and more.
Tower of Sarakini, It is the oldest tower that built it on the island and dates from 1577. It was the residence of “Nicholas Sarakinis”, one of the first inhabitants of Samos after reoccupation of the island at 1572.
The castle of Loulouda is an impressive fortification, at the top of the towering and steep rock 600 m. height, at the south of Kokkari village.
Few traces have remained of the castle that is built at the midlle of 7th century, on the peak “Lazaros” of Mountain “Ambelos” (or Karvounis) at Samos island.
