Event description
Sponsored by Naval Sports Club of Karlovasi (NA.O.K.), is organized the 6th Sumas Festival, on Saturday 19 October at the village of Kastania in Samos island.
The Festival program includes:
- 12:00 presentation of “Suma” distillation process,
- “Exchange”, a trek to the village of Kastania
- Live music, with songs from the Aegean and Asia Minor.
Will be offered to the guests, free “Suma” and appetizers

About “Suma”
Suma is a colorless alcoholic beverage, produced by the distillation of grape marc. It belongs to the family of “tsipouro” and is similar to the Cretan “tsikoudia” or “raki”, the Cypriot “zivania” and the Italian “grapa”. Its alcohol content varies according to the tastes of each producer, but usually ranges from 50 ° C. It is a traditional drink of Samos, Rhodes, Paros and other islands of central and eastern Aegean.
