Economy relies mainly on agriculture (viticulture, olives and vegetables). At the end of the 18th century the main crop was tobacco.
Agii Theodori village (Greek: Άγιοι Θεόδωροι) located in the center part of the island, between the mountains “Kerkis” and “Ambelos”. The distances are: from Samos town 38 km, from Karlovasi town 7,5 Km, from Pythagorio town 29 Km and from Marathokampos village 6,5 Km.
Administratively consists the local communities of Agii Theodori, which belongs to Karlovasi municipal unit, of West Samos Municipality with Karlovasi capital.
Almost invisible, it’s built in a ravine, surrounded by forests, vineyards and horticulture gardens.top
Formerly, it used to have the name “Kaveseika”, from the name of the first inhabitant, “Dimitrios Kavesis”, who came here from Platanos village, but later on, the name of the village church “Agii Theodori” prevailed.top
- Crossing the village and continuing down the road, you will arrive at the villages of “Platanos” or “Konteika“, through a very beautiful route.
- Attraction is the church of the village, the carved stone fountain. The fountain was built at 27 July 1929 and reconstructed recently, carved by a local artist.
