The exhibits and audiovisual equipment, show the everyday life during the Byzantine period, the history of the castle, the action of Lykourgos Logothetis, the fortress architecture in the Aegean and Samos and more.
it’s a BLUE FLAG beach, with small pebbles at the beach (partly sandy) and with sand inside. The beach, protected by the homonymous bay, is suitable for families with small or older children, because the waters are quiet and shallows, the kids’ swimming pool which is near, the playground, the billiard, the ground chess and more. On the left and the right side of the beach there are rocks where anyone can go fishing with rod or with mask and snorkel.
The aim of the project was to supply water from the source of “Ayades”, (hidden at the mountain away from enemies), to the ancient city of Samos, through mount “Kastron”. The result was a remarkable water pipeline, total length 2,385 meters, of which 1,035 through tunnel.
The village is oriented to the north, on a slope with 40% grade and this giving the impression of a balcony over the Aegean Sea, with excellent view from east to the west and reaches till Chios island and Asia Minor coast. It’s a preserved traditional village, with plenty of water, surrounded with lush vegetation, vineyards and orchards.
