Museum History
The museum opened in 1994 and it’s housed in a beautiful neoclassical building of 1899 which was donated by the wealthy tanner Georgios Vergis to the city of Kalovasi, in order to house a public pharmacy for the poor and needy people from the area. About a century later it’s changed character and it’s currently a museum dedicated to the preservation of the history of Karlovasi.
