Municipality of east  Samos has capital the city of Samos and consists of 2 municipal units which divided in 6 Municipal Communities and 14 local communities.   More specifically,  it consist of Vathi, and Pythagoreion municipal units.  Vathi municipal unit includes the municipal community of  Vathi & Samos and the local communities of Agios Konstantinos, Ampelos, Vourliotes, Kokkari, Manolates, Paleokastro and Stavrinides and second Pythagoreion municipal unit  includes the municipal community of Pythagoreion, Mitilinie, Pagondas and Chora, and the local communities of Koumaradei, Mavratzei, Mesogios, Pandrosos, Mili, Pirgos and Spatharei Municipality of west  Samos has capital the city of Karlovasi and consists of 2 municipal units which divided in 2 Municipal Communities and 13 local communities.   More specifically, it consists of Karlovasi and Marathokampos municipal units.  Karlovasi municipal unit includes the municipal community of Karlovasi and the local communities of Aghii Theodori, Drakei, Kastania, Knteika, Kontakeika, Kosmadei, Leka, Platanos and Idroussa and the Marathokampos municipal unit  includes the municipal community of Marathokampos and the local communities of Kallithea, Koumeika, Neochori and Skoureika.

Mesogios village It is the highest altitude village on the island, with beautiful view over the southwest foothills of Ambelos or Karvounis mountain

It’s located on the west end of “Choras village plain” (the largest plain in the island), close to the east bank of Imbrasus river and within a verdurous environment full of citrus orchards.

It is the fourth most populous village of the island, after Samos, Karlovassi and Vathi and having very small population changes from its creation, because of the economic prosperity that always had.
